About Me:

"I have a passion for the odd and the eccentric; for those traditions which have endured hundreds of years, but equally for the myriad 'World Championships' whose origins are much more recent.

Each presents an exciting production challenge and experience; from filming a mob football game with goals two miles apart, to wading chest deep through the English Channel with camera held overhead to get to a cricket match on a rapidly sinking sandbank.

Many events are so visually compelling, the main challenge is finding the best way to show them off. All however, whether ancient or modern, beg insight and explanation. This is best delivered via interviewing the main protaganists: the die hard competitors, the flamboyant eccentrics, or the passionate traditionalists, some of whom I now call friends.

Aside from the bizarre nature of these subjects, I get to witness very old and very new communities at their best; celebrating, competing and immersed in their activity. It's a joy.

Ultimately my goal is to capture this and have it come through the screen."
